Advice on 12V-2x6 cable and GPU compatibility

Hi guys. I have a RM1000e (2023 model) which comes with what is stated to be a 12V-2x6 cable online, but the box says "12VHPWR". I understand that the cable has evolved over the last couple of years due to problems with Nvidia cards, and that they are cross compatible, but where I'm confused is on the number of pins.

I've just bought a Sapphire 9070xt and it comes with a PCIe adapter cable that uses 3x8 from the PSU with all 16 pins on the GPU side populated. My cable only has 14 pins populated on each end. What's confused more is that the review I read before buying it referred to the power cable as a "16 pin" cable. Googling the issue has only made it worse, as I'm seeing other 12V-2x16 cables, even from Corsair, that either have all 16 pins on both ends populated, or 16 on the PSU end and 14 on the GPU end.

I'm sure it's something simple as "that's just how your cable is configured for a Corsair PSU", but I've never used 12V-2x6/12VHPWR before and I don't want to fry my new GPU.

I've uploaded som photos of both of my cables here: https://imgur.com/a/oGT5anU
